Celebrities who smoke are being supplied with packs of cigarettes in their Grade I-listed I’m A Celebrity castle home.
The cossetted stars also have a heated cabin where they can wait as they prepare for trials.
The revelations come after producers had promised this year’s series in North Wales, the 21st, would be the “toughest” so far for stars.
The celebs began their stay on Sunday and were told — along with viewers — that to get warm water they must keep a specially-built boiler stoked with wood.
Producers said the VIPs have to manually pump a device to reach a certain pressure for the boiler to work. In reality, it can be turned on with the flick of a switch.
Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, 30, has been complaining how cold life is in The Clink, the castle’s grim sister camp — and he insisted that there were “icicles” forming on the shower.
Meanwhile, Danny, music producer Naughty Boy, 36, and French football legend David Ginola, 54, were allowed out of the main castle to smoke.

Insiders have also revealed that when the celebrities including TV host Richard Madeley, 65, and singer Frankie Bridge, 32, are told to ready themselves for trials they are taken to a cabin warmed by fan heaters.
A source said: “The castle is certainly no holiday camp, but the stars are being afforded much more luxury than the viewers are told.
“The castle itself is really cold, but the shower does get warm enough to be more than comfortable to wash in.
“There are certainly no icicles forming on the shower head as mentioned. Bosses can flick the hot water on in a second, just like your average punter can with their boiler at home.
“All of the tasks they have to do in order to ‘fire up’ the boiler are just for show. The producers decide when the water is hot or cold.
“The campmates don’t have to put a single log on the fire if they don’t want. They’d still get warm water if bosses press the button.
“They only turn it on once they’ve decided the contestants have done enough.”
The source added: “As for the cigs, you’d have thought the celebrities had been stranded on a desert island the way they clamour for them.
“Danny was asking for one within an hour of the entrance trial ending. David had two smokes in less than an hour.
“When they ran out he asked for another pack. Naughty Boy has been smoking too.”
Last year host Ant McPartlin, 45, said the celebs had complained how cold they were at Gwrych Castle except for the “warm showers”.
He said: “We’ve spoken to them down at trials and we said, ‘Is it cold in there?’ and they said it’s that cold that you never, ever get warm.
“Even at night, it’s in your bones. You know when you’ve been out all day walking and you’re cold . . . it’s like that. Day in, day out.”
Co-host Dec Donnelly, 45, said: “They said that even when they have a warm shower they immediately get cold again.
“I think that has been the hardest thing for them, the cold.”

An ITV source insisted the campmates would not get warm water if they did not not complete tasks.
They said: “They have to do certain things in the day — like collecting wood and burning it, then pumping the boiler you see on screen.”
The ITV show moved to the castle, near Abergele, Conwy, last year and returned this year because of the Covid situation in Australia.
